Året 2023 har vist seg å være et bemerkelsesverdig år for oss. Våre salgstall har overgått fjorårets resultater og nærmet seg målene satt i budsjettet. Den økonomiske bunnlinjen har blitt positivt påvirket av ikke bare vår evne til å kontrollere kostnadene, men også av høyere marginer enn opprinnelig planlagt. Samtidig har vi redusert lageret i tråd med de planene vi hadde, og i tillegg generert ‘penger i banken’, langt utover våre forventninger. «So far so good», som det sies, men som alltid, er det områder hvor vi kan strebe etter forbedringer.
I forhold til budsjettet står vi overfor en utfordring når det gjelder arbeidstimer. Dette skyldes flere faktorer, men mest merkbart er mangel på materialer. Enten det er en direkte mangel eller uregelmessig tilgang til materialer, resulterer det i kostnader for planlagt produksjon, spesielt lønnskostnader, som vi ikke klarer å gjennomføre. Denne situasjonen reflekteres i vår conversion cost pr time, som dessverre ikke har gått ned som vi håpet.

Nøkkelen til Suksess i 2024
Conversion cost pr time blir nøkkelen i 2024, spesielt i det kommende første kvartalet. Vi står foran en betydelig eksamensperiode i første kvartal 2024 som en del av avslutningen på Nordics-prosjektet. Jeg har store forventninger til at om vi oppnår vårt satte mål vil det ikke bare gi en betydelig markedsføringseffekt internt i konsernet, men også åpne døren for nye og givende kontrakter.
Vårt ambisiøse mål er å nå de ettertraktede 158 dollarene pr time. Dette tallet skal imidlertid eskaleres til 190 dollar pr time i samsvar med konsumprisindeksen. Dette representerer en betydelig reduksjon for oss. For å nå dette offensive målet, er vi avhengige av en fortsatt god kontroll på kostnadene, som vi har utvist i 2023. Men vi må også fokusere på å generere flere produktive timer. Mange har allerede jobbet intenst for å sikre tilstrekkelige materialer for første kvartal. Selv om vi ikke har nådd våre optimale materialnivåer, håper jeg at vi, som et samlet team, kan maksimere produksjonstiden gitt våre nåværende forutsetninger.
For å vise den faktiske produksjonskapasiteten vi besitter, har vi nå muligheten til å være mer fleksible enn noensinne. Økt fleksibilitet på råvarelageret, økt sikkerhetslager og bestilling av større kvanta enn tidligere gir oss muligheten til å sikre tilgjengelighet av råvarer når det trengs mest. Dette bidrar også til at oppstart går som planlagt. I tillegg kan vi være mer fleksible når det gjelder ferdigvarelageret og i større grad enn tidligere produsere varer for lager, som for eksempel Leap 1B LPT-case. Denne økte fleksibiliteten gir oss muligheten til å opprettholde en jevn produksjon og optimalisere produksjonstakten i tråd med beste LEAN-praksis. Jeg er fast overbevist om at det dyreste vi kan gjøre er å la være å produsere timer!
Sammen mot Suksess
Mitt store nyttårsønske er at vi, som en samlet enhet, står sammen om å produsere alt som kan produseres i første kvartal 2024. Jeg håper virkelig at vi har takten inne allerede fra første arbeidsdag på nyåret, i et unikt samspill mellom mennesker, maskiner og materialer!
